Project Information
My goal is to create ergonomic cane handles that fit the hand with comfort, support and style. You now have an option to not use an ugly aluminum cane or skinny, wobbly cane to support yourself. I design and create the canes for functional and aesthetic needs. The user's height, weight and other physical needs are taken into consideration for the cane to be a more complete unit for their support. Each cane is hand crafted to give the user and viewers pleasure to look at, so the owner does not have to feel embarrased in needing to use a cane. I want the individual to use it in comfort and enjoy it with pride. I hope I am successful in my goal. Your comments are welcome.
This is one of my favorites. The handle is made from extra fancy Claro Black Walnut, very nicely figured and the shaft is Sapele. I love the feathering and sunray effect the Claro Black Walnut gives here and the Sapele has an illumination similar to Koa and has a strength and density that I like to use for shafts, yet light enough to carry. This one was made for my husband Christmas 2007.
