This is a prime example of a tall, sturdy cane that I like to create for people who want a large, big cane. The handle measures 7" long x 2" tall x 1.5" wide and is made of solid figured honey golden Koa. The collar is made from Texas Ebony and the beautiful golden yellow grain in the chocolate brown adds a nice subtle continuation of gold color from the Koa that also flows in the golden undertones of the Sapele shaft. This cane is currently 40" tall and can be cut to suit. I can also make a custom cane for those with specific needs in the size, shape, height of a cane.
I like the lines of my designs to flow into each other so that there is no awkward angle that makes the piece look like a handle that was not intentionally made for the shaft. I want the eye and hand to be able to caress the shape of the handle and to feel the beauty of the wood both physically and aesthetically.
There are many ways to make and design a cane and this is just one of my favorites.
