Well, I have been avoiding your posts because canes remind me that I'm old, but this one caught my eye. I like the tactile look of the handle on this one and the wood is pretty too. Your other posted canes are also real nice. Sorry I haven't commented before now.

I want to mention that it really is important to me to have the cane user who needs to use a cane to be comfortable in not only how the cane fits, but how the cane makes them feel. I believe that the ugly utilitarian cane can be replaced with something more beautiful and aesthetically rewarding for the user and viewers. One of my first canes was made for a gentleman who had just started dating my co-worker and she noticed that he had a limp but refused to use a cane during their outings. She had a cane made from Snakewood and Brazilian Ebony and presented it to him as a Christmas present. He was absolutely estatic about the beauty of the cane and used it proudly from then on. Just because you have a need, doesn't mean you have to look awkward. My goal is to have the cane user feel comfortable mentallly and physically. Also, the age of my clients range from their 30's to 80's, so there really is no age discrimination.

Just because we get a little gimpy, doesn't mean we can't do it in style!

What a wonderful philosophy! I would imagine many of your younger clients would not use a regular cane simply because it made them look "old"- even though they would benefit from the assistance. Your canes provide the "look", as well as support, for everyone.

fyi - the macawood is commonly called granadillo (as serveral other species are) but the sci name = Platymiscium yucatanum - it's really nice stuff!
