Project Information

After a long time my excavator is finally ready. He is about 50cm. tall, the most important used woods are Ash and Pacific teak (Intsia bijuga). I also made 2D drawings (65 pages, letter/A4) and colored templates (14 pages letter/A4) It was Ducky which did a impressive work making the 3D drawings. He also made a breakdown video from the tracks aswell from the body. There is also a video from the already build prototype

If you are interested for making this excavator you can find more about it at dutchypatterns.com

Incredible!
How many hours in designing and drawing?
And how many hours actual build time?

Now that is impressive, I am always interested in the building of the tracks, so much nicer than the T&J method, and my method. will be studying this one more.

I realy don't know how many hours I have spend to this project. The actual build time was less than 30%.

The tacks are indeed different than the T and J ones, they are made out of profiled strps.

Pictures look great!

Hope I'm not out of line anticipating (and looking forward to) the ever detailed Dutchy build blog(s).
It was "Ducky" which did a impressive work making the 3D drawings.
