Project Information

This is a plan from Woodsmith mag. #169 with a few differences, I used oak instead of ash and put glass in the doors. I left the center section natural and used a stain for the top and the base section, then put poly on. It was a good project that I finished last month. Of course we had to get a new TV and HD hooked up so I can watch Norm on Saturday.

There are several things I like about this project. Glass panel doors, the flush drawer looks awesome, the hardware is a great match to the style I like the heavy squareness of it, and the two tone oak is something I have not thought of doing, I will take note. Some black Matte would help hide the wires in the back. Thanks Make sure you use the wrist strap on the Wii remote we don't want any accidents.

Great entertainment center. I had only thought of using different woods in a project for contrast. I'd never thought of using stain like you did. I really like that effect. Definately something I'll keep in mind for the future.

Great Job! I am planning to build the same entertainment center from WoodSmith. I am also planning some modifications, such as more drawers instead of doors and possibly a bit wider.

I enjoy the style and design you have chosen. I really like the fact that you were able to add contrast utilizing the same wood by use of stain and poly. Great job on the flush mount drawers and cabinet doors.
