Project Information

This is an English walnut rocking chair I recently completed for Kyle. It took a week to figure out how I was going to use the wood and then a week taking the wood apart and putting it back together to get the boards I wanted then two weeks to complete the chair. It was a lot of fun.

That is really wild wood - I love how you matched the backslats to have that sweeping stair step in sapwood from left to right.

Hal, that is truely amazing, wonderful build. I have ordered your plans and cd, about a year ago. Work and finishing our house and cabinets keep getting in the way. I have been using the sterling bandsaw blades you sell and love them, they slice thru 2" walnut like butter. I will be finishing rocker forms this weekend. You are truly a craftman and an artist. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and craftmanship. Bob

Hal, that is one beuutiful rocker, I especially like what you did with the back slats and arms. I also have your plans (book), video and templets. Just finished the front legs for one yesterday (except for sanding).

That's beautiful Hal. I hope to attach the rockers to my chair this weekend and do some final sanding. The plans have been great - so thorough and detailed that I haven't had to pester you for help. I highly recommend these plans to anyone. I'll send you some pics when I'm done.
