Dan this is the box you spoke about during the Chat session this morning.

It's a very interesting concept. I don't think I've seen anything quite like it.

Thanks.

Now there is a box for Don! I wonder how long before he builds one?

That is a very unique and well designed box. Thanks for sharing. Sorry I missed another chat…I can't seem to get to a computer when they are in progress.

Shortly after I listed this box, I made one of my own.
It is all cut out, sanded, dyed and sitting with a spit coat of linseed oil.
I'm going to list it as a project, but thought I could also list a couple photos here too.
The box is incomplete. Still needs shellac, stain, and more details. I'm not real happy with the way the wenge looks so, I looking for something to use in it's place. ... link to all the photos

I like your interpretation even better than the original! Do you have any more information on the original? What type of wood do you think it was?

two light linseed oil coats … let soak in for 275 days

spit coat of seedlac shellac

minwax java gel stain for shading

general finishes maple oil stain

tad bit more gel stain

All the hardware is acid patina finish.

It is a Star Wars action figure. Thought the scale and theme looked right.
