I don't know if you could have done that better. The odd number of nine is perfect for this design. The radiating lines separate and make distinct the individual eggs…. and by raising the center one it breaks up that horizontal plane. Nice looking display. And those eggs are incredible.

Very wonderful art on the eggs and great craftsmanship on the stand, I like the compound mitres on
the base, as well as the ornamental arches. The top looks great, did you laminate the top, or inlay the
jatoba into the face? Either way it looks terrific and took some time to get that look. The base for
center egg looks like it was turned and then carved, or the jatoba has great grain, I can not tell
which from the pictures, if it sounds like I can not stop looking at and examining this work of art, that
is a fact. Thank you for sharing.

the top is segments cut on a mitre saw with one strip of jatoba laminated to it
then i assembled the top
the edge strip is inserted on both edges of the board before i cut the segments
the centre piece is done on a circle sander and carved with a small router
i thougth it would look like a bunny nest
the base is simply 8 segments cut on the mitre saw from a prepared board like you would make for a crown moulding
the egg cups where drilled with a modified spade bit which i ground mysellf to shape and took no time to make
i hope this answers your questions

thanks for your comments and interest
