Project Information
For a while I have been trying to come up with a simple design to make a folding easel case for my son and nephews to make (currently 7, 8 & 9 years old). This was a complete failure in that regard. But not a bad design result. Two days of solid work in the shop and this is the outcome.
My sister (pictured) claimed dibs on it straight away although she already has a easel that I made for her a few years ago.
It is made to fold up to carry some art materials. But I did not extend the slots far enough down to cater for canvasses in the landscape orientation. Also, next time I will turn the handle to give it a more tactile carrying handle.
A simple cord and twisting toggle is used to hold the case shut when being carried.
My sister has been told that I have to keep it for the time being to use as the template for the next version. Not sure if I will get away with that, she has already marked as her own with some over zealous paint strokes.
