Project Information
I built the Anarchist's Toolchest, but realized how quickly the lid became a place to store things when closed (I share space in a shop so I usually put whatever I was working on on top of it at the end of the day to free up bench space for others, then had to move it all the next day to get into it). It was a hassle to move everything off to get into and I wasn't a big fan of having to reach to the floor to get a plane. All this was mentioned on an episode of the Woodwrights Shop, but I didn't see it until later. Still glad I built the ATC because I learned a great deal of skills and theory.
This chest was a breeze after that, it doesn't become a resting place for random shop items and is a pleasure to work from. My ATC will be with me forever and is used now for longer term tool storage/for tools and moulding planes I don't use all too frequently.
