Project Information

After reading poroskywood's cutting board guide, I decided I had to make my own. What better way to get to know my new bandsaw, after all? But having already made and given away several end-grain cutting boards, I couldn't convince myself to make a non-end-grain board…so I made my own endgrain planks in maple and sapele, planed them down to smoothness, glued them together to make ~14"x14" boards, stacked and cut them, glued together again, etc…

There's a lot of glue in the final project! And I think my thickness planer doesn't like me very much any more. Oh well.

Maple and sapele, finished with salad bowl finish.

Whoa. You couldn't have been too drunk to put those together. Tricky. And nicely done.
