Drillpress Table

I'd been contemplating a better work surface for my DP for sometime but had a mental block in how to execute it. Having stumbled upon the LJ web site i found plenty of inspiration. I wanted to make it my first project post. As you can see my DP is a Delta 12 inch bench top model. I have mounted it a HF Universal Tool Stand and HF roller base. All of the wood for the table came from a chest of drawers that had seen better days. I had to move the chest from our my son's house but i couldn't stand the thought of just throwing it to the curb. So I began breaking it down. That's when it struck me. The top of the table is the top from the chest and the base from the chest mated back together. I have raised it off of the original table using a 3" plywood box made from some of the drawers from the chest. This allowed me plenty of room to actuate the height adjustment crank and also allowed me to create a down draft sanding insert for use with my sanding drums. To attach the new table to to original, i cut two oak cleats that are perfectly sized to match the table slots. These cleats hold the table in postions front to back and side to side. The wood table is attached only using the 5/16" Rockler Cam Clamp passing through the center of the tables as showin in the third photo. This allows me to install or remove the wooden table in a few seconds.

Edit - the finished size is about 18×32 inches. The T-track piece are Incra.
