Project Information

I made a few rings with a hole saw and my drill press.
The first pic is the 6 I finished. I have about 9 more that need some sanding and oil.
The second pic is oak and purple heart. The bigger of the two is my favorite of all of them.
The third pic is walnut and oak.
The fourth pic is maple and purple heart.
They are all finished with boiled linseed oil, because why not? I donno. Anyways does it count as turning if it's on a drill press? Hahaha I kid, I kid, I know it doesn't.

Scott, sure it is a turning if it is on a drill press, it is just that the wood isn't turning. I think I would have put a final coat or two of urethane on these so they would shine a bit because…why not? I like the look and the contrast of the oak with the walnut and purpleheart. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks
They do turn on the drill press to sand them. I wrap paper around my smallest hole saw and then force the ring onto it so it will fit snug. Then just hold the sand paper and shape it with some 60grit then increase the grit until I got to 240 (I didn't have any more grip paper)

Thanks for looking guys

Good job! I've been meaning to combine some purple heart with something for a ring, maybe some oak or ash. I use linseed too :)
