Project Information
With my workshop setup, it makes most sense to keep my drills and drill bits in the metal drawer right benearh my drill press. I recently got tired of my drill bit drawer looking like this.
I really like the idea of organizers that I can take out of the drawer and move to wherever I need them, so I made separate holders for all my different types of bits: spade, forstner, hole saws, and a cath all for my most commonly needed bits (insert bits and bit holders, countersink bits, twist bit cases). The holder for the forstner bits is a simplified version of Steve Ramsey's plans, the rest I just winged and made them the same height and length. All are made of 1/2" MDF and finished (like many of my shop fixtures) with 2 sloppy coats of shellac. Not real pretty, but real functional.
