Project Information

I have Dave Aka Double DD to thank for inspiring me to make this when he posted his Dremel Router Base Jig. A great way to used up some scraps. It's
4 1/2" square. I hit Ace Hardware for the 6" threaded bolts, nuts, washer, and press in nuts and with a few measurement that Dave posted I was anxious to get stared. I have one more almost finished to give our son as a gift.
Hope you like mine as much as you liked Dave's :)
Thanks for looking,

The hardware,
Two 6" X 5/16" fully threaded bolts, two lock nuts and two washers and 4 press in 5/16" nuts for the knobs.
For the carriage, Two- 3/16" x 2" bolts, two lock nuts and two washers. All cost about $7.00 US.
I used toggle bolts and discarded the wing nut's

Thank you Double DD!

Tony that's almost too pretty to be a jig but it's something I need to look at …

What would a woodworker use the Dremel for ?

Thanks Steliart,
Don't feel bad I'll take good care of it! LOL!!!

Thanks Ed,
The dremel can be use for a number of woodworking tasks. I wanted the jig to help guide my hand when signing or (carving) my name in certain projects. The bit is the same a router bit but much smaller.

Maybe Someone else will chime in with some suggestions.

Turned out great Tony. The knobs are the focal point. If you make one for your son he can make his own sign. Haha
Looks like you got the right bit too. I received the other bits I ordered today. Some 60 degree and 90 degree carbide V bits. Haven't tried them yet but will tomorrow and I'll let you know how they work.
Have you tried yours yet?
By the way, Dave who?
Thanks for the mention, I appreciate it.

Thanks Eric!
Now I need to practice writing my name with it.

Thanks Dave…..
(double DD) that's who! LOL! I did give it a try just before I posted it here. It works just as expected. I was able to write name …Whoopee! My parents would be proud of me! LOL!
The 90 degree bit is the one you recommended. I'll wait to see what you recommended next before I buy another one. I agree about the knobs being the focal point. Don't us guys just love things with knobs? hahaha!

Pretty nice and a wonderful accessory for the dremel .
I like the visibility that the base allows and the knobs are just beautiful too.

It's on my list Tony and Dave but I am waiting for my New 3 hp dust collector. And now I have to run some new wiring for the big bear beastie.

I could really use this. Years ago I bought a plastic version but it was cheaply made and didn't hold up. Nice work.

Functional is a good thing but good looking knobs makes even better! I didn't have a way to Knurl the knobs like Dave did on his but it work ok.
