Project Information

My recent entry into the wonderful world of LumberJocks started with a blog entry by A.J. Hamler.
http://blog.woodshopnews.com/workbench/?p=1238"

In it, he said that he was making a dragon pull toy for a grandchild, and gave me a nice shout-out as the designer. He said that he found the plans in the April 2000 issue of Woodworker's Journal. After A.J. sent me an email to let me know that he mentioned me in his blog (a class act!), I asked him how he found the dragon.
What goes around comes around, and he told me he found it through a LumberJocks post by Wayne Jensen (aka Owlcroft).

And then to top that, Wayne made a video of the dragon in action and posted it on YouTube.

So A.J. and Wayne are the reason I'm here. And that's the rest of the story.

New friends are a good thing to have. It only took me 13 years to find them. :)

John, you certainly chose a fun career, combining woodworking and architecture. Imitation is said to be the sincerest form of flattery and I can see many of our fellow Lumberjocks "favoriting" your creations. Thanks for sharing your imagination and skills with all of us.

John - so happy to find you on LJs! I want you to know I've saved the plan from Woodworker's Journal all these years, with the best of intentions of making it; love the design. My ninth grandchild is due in June, so I have another year as a chance to make it before he's walking. AJ Hamler printed an article of mine in the first issue of Woodcraft Magazine several years ago, and I agree, he is a class act as an editor, and a woodworker.
Anyway, just wanted to welcome you to LJs and let you know I admire your design. ;-)
