Project Information
Shout out to "Steve Ramsey" of "Wood Working for Mere Mortals" for the idea!
I took his idea and added my own ideas to make this Door Harp Instead of using bolts and nuts I used "zither pins" to tighten the guitar strings. I also used Harpsichord pins for the string anchors. I used Walnut for the face, sycamore for the hollowed body and oak plywood for the back. The strings are guitar string. I designed the bridge using walnut cut to size then carefully filing a grove to inlay a wire for the strings to rest on.
This was not as easy a project as I thought. Lots of neat challenges to work through!!! Now to find the right door to hang the harp on.
Thanks for looking!!!
