I made this to order for a friend of the family who was anticipating her 6th birthday party. She wanted a picnic table and a garden where she could plant flowers. The platform is a kind of torsion box with recessed areas on the side and Cherry planter boxes in each corner. Floral foam was placed in each planter and recess to allow her to "plant" silk flowers. The table is build from scrap Walnut and every things was given a couple of coats of oil/varnish blend for protection. It was a big hit and she is very proud to have a "one of a kind table". It's nice to see that kids appreciate hand made too.
