Nice work. They are much better than the wire or plastic commercial crates.
I made one a couple of years ago for my Corgi and she loves hers too. After she was a year old and trust worthy we no longer needed to close the door she just goes in every night on her own. Mine is made to fit diagonally across a corner.

This is one of the nicest dog crates I have ever seen. Wonderful idea and great execution.

Share your dimensions ? Also is it on wheels? I was thinking this would work great in the kitchen where I keep my Boxer at in a wire cage that I would like to get rid of. Did you put a plastic tray in the bottom or just plywood bottom?

Dimensions: 24" wide x 27" tall x 36" long. This is a big kennel. Wood is pine and top is ash I believe.
I began with just one door at the end but went back a mad an additional door for the sides so room placement would be easier. I do not have wheels but did install some felt pads on bottom to slide it around easier on my hardwood floors. This is a heavy crate. The bottom is a sheet of 1/2" plywood that I sanded, stained, and poly. I caulked the floor to keep any accidents from happening. Then just use some dog cushions for them to sleep on. They love it.

much nicer than the traditional black wire ones, though probably not as portable. I think you definitely find a market to sell these to others who want dog crates that look a little better

Fantastic dog crate! Great design, very well made and like the clean lines. Looks really comfortable, I'm sure the dogs approve. Great job!

Thanks for the additional info, might borrow your idea and build one myself. I think I am going to look for some kind of pan to put in the bottom and maybe build a crate that fits the pan and my baby girl. Lady.
