Project Information

I've got a show coming up in early December that will have fairly limited space. I figured this was a good excuse to make some vertical display stands to get a few things up, off of the table.

Platters in particular take up a lot of table real estate, so I made an easel-styled stand for them. The material is reclaimed red oak floor joists (originally 2"x10") and braided copper. No finish yet - planning on just a quick coat of danish oil for the wood and a blue-green patina on the copper.

The airplane-tail-inspired piece is walnut (base and spine) and cherry (shelves). Finished with just danish oil, it's made from the same material as a bottle stopper stand I made a year or two ago.

They look great. I have some rough sawn lumber that would work great for the bowl stand you made.

Man, those look fabulous! I have a bunch of live edge boards sitting waiting for me to do something with them, I never thought about shelves. Great job on both stands, and thanks for some inspiration!
