Showcase cover image for Display board for bottle caps

Project Information

My son likes to collect the bottle caps from Snapple for the sayings, and needed a way to display them. This is what I came up with. I think it can hold a little under two hundred, which I a drop in the bucket considering there are over a thousand possible for his collection. But he only keeps the ones that really hit home for him.

It's all oak, with the back board being oak ply. He wanted it left natural…no finish at all. I will mount using a French cleat.

Cheers

That's awesome that you would do that for your son. Those are the things they remember. Guaranteed he will be telling his children how he collected snapple caps and how his dear old dad made him this great board. Good job friend

That is a very cleaver way to display the Snapple caps. Don't know that I've ever heard of someone actually collecting them, but there are a lot of great thoughts in those caps worth saving. Good job!

Cool idea! I had a similar collection years ago and drew up plans for a pub-height hexagon table with the caps under a sheet of glass. If you lay the caps out staggered to minimize the gaps between them, they form a nice hexagon. Never ended up finishing that build though…

Very neat.
Never had a snapple in my life. I may just try one now.
Cool thing to do for your son.
Well done.
