Project Information

Made a new dining room table. Made it from 12/4,6/4, and 5/4 Ribbon Stripe Sapele. The breadboard ends are all drawbore even on the company boards. The legs are solid 12/4. The top is 6/4 with haunched tenons. The company boards add 16" on each end. I don't like cutting a top in half to add a leaf. The company boards let me keep the top in one piece. They attach to the ends on two 1 1/2" steel tubes. It's 40" wide and 5'4" long. It's finished with Arm R Seal and Myland's wax polish.

Beautiful work! I think you just helped me decide what to make my dining room table out of. Just don't tell the boss I know that part of the plan. She will insist I start on it now.

How long is it with the company boards on it?

Thanks Bob,
thanks Pottz and no Festools were used in the making of the table. It did take a little longer than planned but that's normal for me.
Thanks Sansoo, with the boards on its a little over 8'.

Corelz, beautiful table. That grain is wonderful and the breadboards look amazing. The base appears to be sturdy, and a wonderful idea by using steel tubing for the company boards. (Never heard that term before). Well done.

Wow!! I know it took longer than anticipated but the outcome shows the value of patience. That top is just spectacular. The base/legs are a great match with the clean design. Hope your family enjoys making many memories around that table…using table mats and coasters of course! ;)

Wow, really great table and the company boards are a great addition. We have an old 75 yr old or more oak table with pull out company boards. Think you will like that feature.
Great wood and grain. Finish really is super. Good work.

Truly awesome Corelz!

Didn't expect the company extensions, but then no one expects the Spanish inquisition either 8^)

The design is very clean and looking exceptionally solid. You'll be eating off of it for many years!

Congrats !
