This rather big (2'') dice was made from alder for my daughter when I was learning her how to use a dice and how to count the dots when she was about 3 years old. I drilled holes to fit dowels that I made from some unspecified tropical hardwood on the lathe. The dice was then treated with linseed oil. I hope it will be used soon again when little sister will learn how to use a dice.
