Project Information

A buddy of mine has a bunch of deer antlers that he has found out in the woods and he brought me a pair and said make something with them. He wanted something simple and outdoors looking for his hunting camp. I came up eith this simple coat or bow rack. It is made out of some old deer sheds and a piece of mesquite wood that I someone gave me and I put a coat of semi gloss poly on it. It is very very simple but I enjoyed making it and he was very pleased with it. I learned that mesquite is very heavy and hard. The next one I make i think i will rout the edges or something. If anyone has any ideas or plans that I can make using the antlers I would be happy to listen. Thank you.

Cool man. That is always a good start. Coat racks are always useful.

I make a few things with antler. They work well with wood tools, and polish up beautifully on the buffing wheel. Just be careful not to burn them. Unless that's the effect you want. Sometimes it is.

You're lucky to have a source of material. Have fun. Jack…......................

good ideas maybe make some knives with antler handle handles. Very cool, or even a shop tool.
