I made this tote from reclaimed pine and oak. It is finished with Early American stain and two coats of semigloss poly. The handle is made from a vine twisted Sassafras stick.
Richard, I like your tote and I especially like the sassafras handle. Your photos are clear and the writing is concise. Well done. I liked seeing how this was made and assembled. This project has character and rustic charm. Good job of knowing what to sand and what to let stand. This should sell well.
It helps your readers if you edit in dimensions. It is very difficult to tell dimensions from just a photo, even a photo done as nicely as yours are. Just in the spirit of sharing, this is a tote and a carrier I posted.
I'm glad that you kept the old rustic look for this piece … If you look at the stuff that was made in the 20's and 30's, most of it was usually old apple boxes recut and tacked together with the straightened nails from the old box.
Great piece of work.
