Project Information

Saw this a few days ago from Steve Panner. Thanks for the idea! http://lumberjocks.com/projects/185946

Thought it would make a nice project so I made one yesterday. Bronze T fitting from Home Depot ($10) , a stick of yellow heart for the handle and a small piece of rosewood for the business ends. Filled the T fitting with lead shot. Looks and feels great.

Neat idea! Did you thread the wooden pieces where they fit into the fitting?

Lew, yes, made a thread for the handle, (like on the video) not the tips, just fit them to the threads and epoxied them in.

Well done !
I love making mallets too and have one for just about any purpose .
What is this mallet going to be used for and how are the wood heads attached and did you fill the cavity completely with shot or only partially ?
