Project Information

After two months of remodeling a 1890 butcher shop that had not one square or level wall or floor in the whole building I introduce Dan Pfeiffer Gallery. To start the project I had to bust up six tons of concrete that had a sloped concrete floor that was 21'' out of square . The floor was sloped to let the blood and water run out of the building. I then built a sub floor out of 2×6 wolmanized to support an antique pine floor. I then cut an opening sixteen feet wide by eight foot hight for glass opening to the courtyard side wall to let the sculpture garden side in. I then made two new eight foot doors for new openings . I rewired with all new track lighting inside and out . I finished the floor and then installed artist Debra Fritts , Phil Evett, Keith Clemetson , Holly Blanton, Hilario Guterez and Dan Pfeiffer art work.
I opened on Black Friday to the shopping crowd in Fredericksburg Tx. It was a emotional day for all the work I had to explain then tell the story of the building and the history of the butcher shop as well as the artist stories and there art. All this and Heaven too.

Great transformation into a wonderful gallery. I like that genuine cowhide carpet. I had one I used for a
quilt on my waterbed during cold winters. Hope you and your fellow artists have a prosperous business
there. Thank you for sharing.l

Like "tefinn" said, lots of hard work. I assume you own the bldg, otherwise why would someone put so much work in to it. And to make it an art gallery is an excellent idea. An old bldg with history would make a great attraction all by itself but you've raised the bar a bit. Wish you lots of success!

Phenomenal accomplishment !! What a transformation and exceptional craftsmanship. Should be good to go for another few hundred years, a legacy project.
