Project Information

So a couple years ago, after about a 25 year Hiatus, I started playing D&D with some friends. A few were completely new to the game and a couple used to play in High School/College, like I did, so it's been a fun mix. I made a magnetic Dice Tower for myself patterned after the excellent design by a gaming company called Wyrmwood who make some beautifully crafted gaming accessories. Well one of the players wives reached out before Christmas and asked if I could make one for her husband that she could buy as a gift. I decided instead to make them for everyone in the group and for my own fun to try different woods. Here they are in Walnut, Cherry, Maple, Aromatic Cedar, and Mahogany.

For those unfamiliar, there are really three components - A dice "Vault" with the character names on it - these hold about 8 dice (I should have taken a picture of them open!), and then the dice tray (which doubles as a storage box), and the tower itself. The tower has internal ramps in it so when you drop the dice in, they roll around, get rndomized and shoot out the front, into the try Everything breaks down into individual pieces to store in thh dice tray with a leather strap to hold it all together.

Finally I got to try out my new branding iron and my new fun logo that I plan to use on my work. I bought the branding iron off Etsy - What fun that thing is!

Aside from the wood burned logo, all the other designs and words were cut on a CNC and filled with epoxy.

Thanks for looking,
Scott

Your dice towers are really nice. Great wood selection and the CNC dragons are perfect for them.

I spent many days and nights playing D&D when I was much younger (high school, Army, and college). Having a box for the dice beats throwing the 20 sided dice and having it roll off the table under the couch.

Thanks Earl! It's really been interesting the last couple years to see how D&D has made a resurgence….it's not quite main stream, but it's more popular than ever.

Scott, I've been wanting to do this exact same build. Would you be up for sharing the plans you had for these?

Thanks!
Marshall
