Project Information
I built this mobile cart for my shop vac and Dust Deputy cyclone. Made from 3/4" ply. Used dadoes/glue/screws for the joinery. The cyclone is mounted atop a piece of ply on a piano hinge to fold up out of the way and give access to the dust bucket. A small clasp holds it down. Just behind that, I have an area where I can store the extension tubes, but I haven't gotten around to drilling those out. Right now, the shop vac is being held on with some bungy cords. I've thought of some more elegant solutions, but I was happy just to get this functional so I've just left it for now. The castors make it easy to drag around the shop, although the screws did poke through - just used what I had in the parts bin. Not perfect construction, but it does it's job. Very handy. Maybe someday I'll get around to finishing the tube/accessory holder and perhaps painting it. My wife got me a Festool package that included a dust extractor for Christmas, so this setup is slightly redundant. I'll probably use the Festool for tool use, and this for general shop cleanup.
