Cyclone Vacuum Cart

Nice work….I am in serious need of a DC system….just hope mine is half that cool….

Sweet set up, I built one of these a few years ago. It worked really well. I ended uo putting a big system in as I out grew it. Amazing how well these work.

I would think that some carefully cut scraps for the four corners would not only cover the screws that poke through, but would also hold the vaccuum and the bucket in place. I don't know about you, but if there is a screw poking though anywhere I am always sure to find it. Nice work.

Nice job, I just got the same unit and am about to create something along the same lines. You just have to have a quick way to empty the bucket!!!

where did you get the hoses for the DC/Vac/Dust Dep?
im always curious as where people get them from.

oh, and what size is the intake and exhaust ports.

JohnInHadley: I like the idea of the scraps to cover the screw tips. That would work perfectly to hold the shop vac in place. The bucket is actually held in place pretty well now. I routed a recess in the bottom ply for the bottom edge of the bucket to sit in. The flip top lid has a routed recess for the top of the bucket. (I routed these with my router circle jig.) The flip lid with cyclone attached comes down right over the bucket (sealed with weather stripping) and is held down with a small clasp. This makes it super easy to get the bucket out - just undo the clasp, flip up the lid, and out the bucket comes! Easy, just like Syd Sellers says is important!

dahenley: The hose that goes from the shop vac to the cyclone comes with the Oneida "Dust Deputy Deluxe Kit." The hose for the "business end" is one I bought from the shop vac accessory shelf at the Lowe's, a 2.5". The shop vac did come with a small hose, but I needed/wanted something bigger. The inlet/outlet ports on the cyclone are 2", but are tapered so they can fit a range of hoses. The 2.5" hose works great. You can check out more about the DD at the oneida-air.com website.
