Project Information
My cyclone is about 4 years old and my filter was very plugged up from to much mdf and melimine. I contacted the great folks at Wynn filter and got some great advice. and excellent customer service. I checked around, then placed an order for 2 Nano Fiber filters, about 700 square in. area. It is over kill for my cyclone, but I am looking to the future at maybe an upgrade. I built thre boxes out of BB and primed and painted them. I epoxyed in a couple of cleanouts in the bottom box. I also added the micro-switch Long Ranger gate system from PSI. It is a very simple system, easy to install, normaly closed system, just a doorbell wire install. I ordered the main box from Amizon, it came w/ control box, 100' of wire, and one gate. I also ordered 10 micro switches, and installed them on each gate. I also retaped all my joints, added a few new outlets. I did all this to try to do better at dust control. I was leaving to many gates open at once, and wondering why my cyclone wasn't doing the job. Now I just open the gate and cyclone starts, when finished with tool, close gate and cyclone shuts down. With very little back presure from filter, the cyclone is doing a great job. I have been using it and an overhead filter for about 2 weeks everyday, and my fine dust has is lots less noticeable. I purchased the filters from Dick Wynn, The filters I got are 9L300NANO, around 300 cubic inches of filter each with a Merv 15 rating and they ran about 150.00 ea. and around 20.00 shipping. This is the best money I have ever spent, The people at Wynn were very helpful, and I also feel much more comfortable knowing I am not pumping killer dust back in my shop. Any imput is always welcome,Thanks Bob
