Project Information
Here's a couple of end-grain cutting boards that I have made for gifts.
The checkerboard one is for my sister this Christmas. I used Maple for the light squares, bubinga for the dark ones, and the middle is a bit of a mystery wood. I had a small slab laying around, not being used, and I needed a third wood. I think that it may be mahogany.
The board with the stripes is made out of maple and bubinga. I made that one for my wife last Chtistmas, and she uses it almost every day.
Making the one for my sister made me realize that these are really easy to build, and would be great for a gift anytime, or even to start selling them.
