Project Information

This cane was done by my husband with minor assist from myself. The handle is done in the Harrison style, designed to allow an ample grip and support to elevate from a sitting position and sturdiness while walking. It is made for right hand use but is comfortable for ambidextrous use. The handle and collar are made from a solid piece of Texas Ebony and the graining is quite unique. It has thin, subtle veins of golden yellow moving through the dense black wood and they are quite beautiful. The shaft is solid bloodwood, with the upper shaft turned to create double dowels for maximum strength. The lower, main shaft is hand shaped. Handle: 8" +/-, Total height: 40"

You can see some of the techniques involved in my instructables at: http://www.instructables.com/id/How_To_Make_A_Custom_Fancy_Walking_Cane/
Please take a moment to VOTE and RATE my project before the deadline, Jan. 11, 2009. Every vote counts towards the next step or I'll be eliminated! Thank you!

If your computer is operating on a Lynix system it may not work. The more commonly used pc systems will work.

I really like that ring embellishment just down the shaft, gives it that little something extra.
