Project Information
My brother was using my bench to upgrade some hardware on one of his electric guitars.
I saw his white plastic pick guard laying there and said to myself that would look way better in maple!
Dug around in the shop and found some 1/8 maple plywood I pulled off something.
Used his old one as a template and cut it out on the scroll saw.
Rounded off the edges with sand paper. Final sanding at 1500 grit then 2 coats of minwax red mahogany and 2 coats of clear shellac.
Not too shabby… hardware upgrade and visual upgrade.
Epiphone Explorer. Only thing that's original in it is the wooden body at this point.
Just added two more photos. Made a new switch and truss rod cover.
