This will also be uploaded to Refurbers but since everything wood was custom made in my shop, I thought I'd post it as a project here.
We had an old, and small bathroom with no window as it's located in the center of the house. It was last remodeled in the 70's, had a blue tub with marbleized looking wallboard and a linoleum. I removed everything and tried to visually increase its size by making a floating counter, putting in a neo-angle shower with clear glass and finishing it all off in a light color with marble tile. And, in fact, it does look larger.
The counter is birdseye maple with a clear vessel sink. The sink has a mounting ring with 12 blue LED lights in it. Under the sink is a 12 volt sensor. It goes on when you enter and off 30 seconds after you leave. I wanted to make something curved that didn't take up to much room and followed the curve of the sink bowl. I decided to use Birdseye maple in this style and it's finished off with several coats of waterlox after being recommended by some people here. (Thanks.)
The cabinet has three doors. I've made raised panel doors before but wanted this to be a little more contemporary so I made them flat, with a curve on the top and rounded over edges. The center door is actually a drawer. It opens and is a medicine cabinet. I used heavy duty drawer gliders for this purpose and mounted them internally so they'd be enclosed by wood and wouldn't show. With the exception of the ogee sink, edge all edges, doors, cabinet top and woodwork is made with some type of round over to all match.
The mirror is custom with side finials that are scrolled. I purchased some bathroom lights and cannibalized them for the porcelain sockets and glass tube shaped globes. The wires run through the scrollwork and behind the mirror to an electrical box.
The shower is Swanstone.
