Project Information

This box was built of Hickory and some veneer of Birdseye Maple. It is built to simulate a box that was crushed at the front corner and splayed out like cardboard. The sides appearing bent like cardboard rather than broken like wood displays the contradiction in appearance and the apparently fluid and flexible wood corner.

Good call Brandon! ROTFLOL.

Nice design Dan. Did you come up with that idea? Also, I can't quite tell, does it tip toward the splayed corner?

Cool idea, wonderful. One suggestion for the next one.

The grain pattern doesn't look like a continuation of the same boards that make up the front and end that are "crushed" at the corner. A better match would re-inforce illusion of flexibility and fluidity you're looking for.

Very attention getting… something I've never seen. Your original concept (the 'crushed' corner) ?
