Project Information

This is a gunstock I recently finished. It is my first attempt at such a project. If your not trying new things, then what are you doing. Thought it might be fun to do, which it was. It is a piece of crotch cherry with a walnut butt plate. The wood butt plate was chosen since there is no recoil with a 22lr. This was a Marlin 15Y my father bought me when I was 7. It was way too small to shoot so that Is why I picked this gun to do. I have a feeling all my rifles will now be getting uprgades.

Boy, the words "custom" gun-stock doesn't do this thing justice.
It came out beautifully!
Nice work !

That is awesome, my son has a marlin .22, youth model, this might be nice to try if I only knew where to start. Guess I'll add it to the list :) Well Done!

Thanks for all the kind comments. Not as hard as you might think. Router, right angle grinder, rasp, file and sandpaper. O'yeah, lots of time and patience. I have a piece of birdseye begging to get with my Mauser. Hopefully some paying work will come in or I'll have the nicest collection of guns in KY.

Beautiful and functional. The crotch wood should be extremely stable. Nice work. BTKS

This is really a beautifully made piece. Even if it is for a gun . . . It looks like it would be a lot more comfortable with those extra curves and heft. I think you're on to something here. You could be kept real busy by gun enthusiasts who want to modernize their gun stock.

I just perused all your projects….............Nice stuff.

being a "gun" guy myself….................is it as pleasing to shoot, as it is to look at?

Nice "can" on the end, too….
