Workshop Information

Country
United States
My 'workshop' is a corner of the half-basement of our house, shared with forty-some odd boxes of bamboo flooring and trim pieces. We bought a foreclosure in May of 2008 and are working on remodeling it. Eventually, this space will be joined with the room next to it to become our living room, but until then it's my shop.

The table saw performs many duties including functioning as a workbench and a base for the router table and compound miter saw when they're needed. The chest of drawers serves as a tool chest, and empty cat litter tubs hold wood scraps.

The beginnings of a cherry and maple tea box can be seen on my 'workbench' :)

Josh, how about posting some pictures of your shop? Visual tours of other shops are always a welcome post.

Thanks for the pic Josh,
I've to admit its a bit cramp there in the shop, but any size is a good shop. Nevertheless it does look cozy in there. And I think you have tons of DIY's tasks with your new home, a lot of fun though.
Do not rush, you will get headache choosing which is first. Schedule it on priority.

And finally, I wish you all the best!

Now THAT is a business-only shop! No obvious bathroom, TV, lounge chair, or the usual upgrades that make us want to live in them!

Enjoy the bamboo. We love ours (by the way: that's the mark of a TRUE woodworker … uses GRASS for flooring!!).

Smart to let it acclimate to conditions. Arguably, taking it out of the boxes and stacking it criss-cross might help.

Do you like your Craftsman Router Table? I bought one, but … realizing it wouldn't fit MY router … took it back!

Have fun, and … as always … thanks for having us over for a look-see!

Josh, I see a lot of potential in your shop. The tile floor will make it pretty easy to clean up and the window is a big bonus in my book since it will admit quite a bit of natural light. You also have some nice tools to play with as well.

Thanks for the picture. I enjoyed taking a look at your shop.

Josh,

Good luck with the remodeling. Hopefully you can arrange permanent digs for a shop after that's done!
