I was wondering how you would keep it square, but I guess as long as it's in the track it would have to be. Good idea!

I checked it for square every step of the way using my Starrett and my Groz squares. I was obsessive about making sure that it was square.

More pictures please :) If you have time of course.

I have gone down into the shop many times to build a sled and get side tracked with another project.

Nice looker. I am a big big proponent of sleds. They also seem so much safer. I have found that once I made one square, it stayed square. The T-track looks nice. Is there a third knob on the back left? What is it for? Also, do you find the laminate top at all too slippery to hold something in place?

Good job.

I really like having a sled for the table saw. I'm a little disappointed I waited so long to make one.
I like the adjustable stop blocks you've added.

It is really pretty. Are the T tracks on the bed for hold downs?

Ron, That as fancy as any sled I've seen. I'll bet it works great as well.

Well Ron, you surely done what this site is supposed to do! Inspired someone-ME. I've worked much too long now with out a crosscut sled and am on my way out to the shop now to construct my own. I certainly do like the stop blocks and the extendable back fence on your design. Ron thanks again for the inspiration and this afternoon will now end the almost 2years of procrastination I've endured. Darn it feels good to know that another need will have been met!

Really extra nice, right down to the lacewood stops. Is the top pheonolic?

Douglas, the sled is phenolic. Somewhat pricey, but I have used melamine in the past and did not really like the results. Thought that I would give this a shot. Very hard to find though, I got the last piece that the local WoodCraft had.

Great looking sled. Now you'll need the hold downs to attach an adjustable fence for angle cuts.

Does the back move or is it firmly attached to the bottom. What is the purpose of the knobs on the front of the sled? Storage for the piece that is attached to the front.
