Project Information
My motivation for building this cross cut sled for my 1949 Craftsman table saw to insure that repeditive "quick cross cuts" would be done accuratly and most importantly safely. My favorite add ons are the removable plexiglass eye protection insert and sled travel stop, aka the thumb saver.
The hinge was added to the blade guard box to clean the view window from time to time. After I figured out a fool proof travel stop for the side of the table there was no need to keep an eye on the blade at the end of a cut. I have the stop block positioned so the blade stops safely in the center of guard box.
