Project Information

Hey everyone, it's been a while since I posted any projects and thought I would share this one.
This crib board came from a piece of maple from a branch off my tree that my neighbor asked me to remove as it reached over the fence line and was hitting his work shop. I gladly obliged and removed the branch.
I left this as a live edge project to see what it would look like and I believe it turned out great.

The holes were the biggest challenge due to the total number of them (180 per track, plus a few extras). Took a bit of time to map them out, punch the holes, then about an hour (or so) at the drill press drilling them all. There were a few holes that didn't cooperate due to the soft/hard wood concept and the bit taking the "easy path" but overall they lined up nicely.

Finish is a basic spray on varathane satin.

The pegs were bought through amazon - just search cribbage pegs and you'll find plenty for sale there.

Enjoy!

Nice board. Well done. I like the lighter wood, it makes to holes really stand out.

Thanks for the positive feedback gents - have to be honest, drilling the holes was very labor intensive.
I picked up a CNC router over the holidays so I look forward to testing it in the future to do all the grunt work of drilling the holes, lol.
