5 board benches are the most utilitarian and you've done a fine job on these especially with the hidden compartment.

Nice design and nicely done. The storage would be especially handy on kitchen benches - place mats and table clothes right there ready to use. I would not mind one of these for my mud room either - stocked with a few towels for wet dog days.

@Roger: You rememdered me that we had such piano bench at home when I was a kid. My father built it. Tons of partitions were stored in that bench! Thanks for the reminder.
