Project Information

Here are two country kitchen benches I just built. Lids up offer great storage. On the last photo you can see the two country kitchen credenzas I recently built and posted on LJ. They were fun to build and they are quite handy. I used glued-up birch and the finish is three coats of wipe-on poly (I really like that stuff).

See all construction details and photos from this page of my blog.

Thanks for looking.

Best,

Serge

5 board benches are the most utilitarian and you've done a fine job on these especially with the hidden compartment.

Nice design and nicely done. The storage would be especially handy on kitchen benches - place mats and table clothes right there ready to use. I would not mind one of these for my mud room either - stocked with a few towels for wet dog days.

Thanks, guys.

@Roger: You rememdered me that we had such piano bench at home when I was a kid. My father built it. Tons of partitions were stored in that bench! Thanks for the reminder.

Serge

Nice work Serge, looks like a wonderful place to eat.
And then you can hide food for later… Smiles.

Thanks, guys.

@Mads, I never thought about hiding food for later. Good idea (think cookies!)

@DiggerJack. Since my house is quite high, I do have enough room to stack my projects.

@MonteCristo. You're right, the set is great in my limited space.

Best,

Serge
