Project Information

This is a two piece unit. It stands 89 inches tall and is 38" wide by 38" deep. This project took me a year and a half to complete, not because it was difficult, but because I couldn't devote the time to working in the freezing cold temperaters of a Minnesota winter in my unheated garage. In actual work hours it took me around 60 hours. The top section is located by dowels. The sound systems subwoofer is sunk into the back behind the TV. The hinges on the door self close with rare earth magnets, which I thought was a really cool idea I saw somewhere. The TV is on a pullout swivel. The media cabinets on the side have glass shelves. It was a really fun project.

very nice design, Looks like it fits in the corner nicely provides lots of storage, and really doesnt take up much room considering what it is. In addition to the design, great craftmanship.

Get a heater! Your work's too good to let a little thing like frostbite slow you down. What's next?

Great use of the corner and some innovative design ideas. Construction is well done.
Until I looked at the last picture of the door hinges I was thinking the side "media" shelves came out to allow access to the back where the wiring is located.
My wife would complain about the open display of the components in the bottom section. She (thinks) she likes those things covered up when not in use. I put doors on one I built last year and they only get closed when company comes (-;

It looks like you have indirect lighting on the top?? I think I will borrow that idea for a corner display cabinet I'm designing for my daughter.

Very nice. I have been wanting to create a corner unit also but I have to deal with a stone wall to the left of it. Some of the stones stick out very far. Gonna favorite this one. Some great ideas here.

No kidding-that's the most beautiful, most practical, and best overall corner unit I've ever seen. Very well done, sir! I think we have the same TV-if so, that thing is a monster. I'm constantly worried the cheap entertainment center we have will collapse under the strain one of these day, but looks like you built yours nice and solid.

How much would something like this cost to have built? I love see the plans. I am wanting a corner TV entertainment center built for a 42" TV. Do you have plans for how you built this? I not someone who can build anything.
