wow , I've never seen Poplar with grain in it like that before…I thought it was Ash or Hickory at first glance. I've even had some White Oak with similar grain before. Anyway , nice coaster to protect your counter top with. Great idea : )

Well Grumpy it is sealed with Poly about 5 coats, the cork is naturally water resistant though.

Well Dusty it is actually for the machines I just stuck the cup on there for size reference,

Gorilla wood glue, we sell it in our shop and I am happy with it so far. It goes on well not a lot of goo out of the cap, and it dries lighter than Titebond.

I stated using it and am happy with the results.
