Project Information
Hey gang, hope all is well out there in LJ's land. I am still in the toy shop working on the turned tree ornaments for those who might wonder if they are painted….lol….they should be up in the next week or so.
Here is an old school jig for those who enjoy cope sawing and would like try a handtool alternative to a electric or even foot pedaled jig saw. I saw this in use on The Woodright Shop with Roy Underhill and just though it was so neat and being a kid at heart I wanted one too….lol.
Being that I only use handtools….and use the coping saw a great deal, I found this very useful for making some easy hoilday ornaments.
I made mine from scrap pine that was sitting around and thought I might share this with anyone that finds this stuff of interest. I styled mine a little bit….why not…I like people to come in the shop and go….whats that?....lol
I figure a little style might even make it work better..lol Although it works really nice for lightweight cope saw projects…..makes cutting more square and accurate.
You just lock it in your wood vice, grab a seat and have a go!!
So If your looking for the enjoyment of going as old school as you can in the shop…take a look at this jig and have some fun with an alternative way of making some cut outs for your next project….or making some holiday ornaments!
Be well gang and best wishes
