Project Information
Here's a recent build I did using different barn woods from our lot. The customer picked out all of the different pieces at the lot and then I ripped them, jointed the back side, and brad-nailed/adhered them to the birch plywood. when it was fully assembled, our finish guy did a great lacquer job on the wood. I did the same for the other side. It's wrapped in 1/4" steel. Everything was fabricated by our team. From design to finish ever piece was made by us including the sliding hardware. The steel was new, but I weathered it down to give it a rusty patina. It rests on a 1/2" thick bar that is held in to the studs by lag bolts. I also made a pinch roller from a skateboard wheel and created some stops on the bar using bolts and P.E. There's a lot more I'm sure I could say about the project…. yadda yadda yadda… but it was really fun. I'd love to build more. I like integrating reclaimed wood and steel into modern projects. I included the 3d sketch that I provided them before hand. It was pretty darn close to the final project. Love when that happens.
