Pencil box
Gene style

This little box owns its life to Gene, he made a wonderful little box and since that day I knew I had to try the same game.

Gene's box.

So the game was on, some packs of color pencils, super glue and patience.
The rest was just cuts and glue.

I love this little box, thank you Gene.

Colorfull cut Ofs.

Coffee and color - what more can one ask for?

Pictures:
1. Pencil box - full of things I love.
2. Glued up and cut.
3. Starting to look like a box.
4. Details.
5. Under.
6. Thank you Gene.

I hope this could be to some inspiration, it sure was for me…

This one is for Paul - Shipwright.

MaFe

Well Mafe, if y'all head over to the feed store Miss Vicki will help you with the Out of Court settlement papers on your copyright infringement. No harder feelings of course and I'll jest settle for a box of them fine collered pencils you done got over there.

Seriously though, I actually laughed out loud when I saw this, made the LOL thingy come true. What a fun reworking of the box my friend, with the staggered style and the points left on you've made it even better.

Well, now that you've done this and I've riffed on Steve's Mobius I guess it's time for him to have at one of yours.

Build on LJ's and copy away!

Well done, Mads! A movie star too, huh?

I always wondered how they got the flower on the top.

Oh, I forgot, nice pencil box.

What really cool pencil box. My daughters birthday is coming up I think I'll make her one. The coffee video was a real treat, thank you. Take care.

BTW, did Shave survive the move? Haven't seen much of him lately.

This may be my favorite project ever. The wonderful, colorful pencil boxes (nods to Gene also) and coffee making hints. All in one. I can use all of these ideas :)

Thanks for the lesson Mads. I will keep trying. The best I have made look kind of like your last one, but then I've only been making espresso for15 years or so.
Are you auditioning for my next Jock in the Box or letting it slip that you were actually the model for the first, not me?

Hi ho,
What a wonderful bunch of comments for Gene and I.
Paul, I love that 'Jock in the box' I will have to make me one some day. (I do see his smile remids a little of mine).
I also made Espresso for years before learning the flower, in fact my first machine was a small Krups back in the

1990ies, where it was a real eye opener in my college days (good to impress the girls).

Today I use the legendary Rancillio Silvia and grind on Rocky (as you see in the video), but do dream of a uprade to a two boiler machine.

Kokaburra, sound like you are just up my street.

Marty, I try, smiles.

Doug, I'm sure she will be happy, let us know.

Dan, thank you buddy.

Lee, I might match ET..

Scott, ;-)

gene, you are always a inspiration, a star on my wood sky. Cant wait to meet Miss Vicki even I might get in troubles with Sisse. Thank you for your kind words.

Pete, perhaps I can make a small drawing with the cut offs… A miniature… Smies.

Topa, yes shame on me! ;-)

CJIII, ;-)

Sada, you just need to make the mini lathe spinn first to make all the pencils… Make it! Enjoy the summer pal.

Roger, yes kind of a upside down…

Scott, think it could be cool also in black and white.

Lew, that should call for a box! And even one with history in it.

Charles, yes my biggest trouble was selecting the next color, it's acually true I spend a lot of time on this, to get it just the way that looked as I wanted, this is how I am, making the box was over in no time. (You know me well my friend).

Dennis, ;-)

Fernando, inside out the box…

Serge, I try I try I try - and yes love it too.

Mike, yes I have a bunch of unposted projects that I have the time to post now where the workshop is in boxes, so you will hear from me once in a while or more… glad you enjoy it.

Seblolo, ;-)

Brian, better get started.

Snowdog, ;-)

Steve, it was great fun and people who see this box smiles also, so yes thanks to Gene.

Mauricio, and so it was ;-)

Jim, Yes this really is a PENCIL BOX, thanks my friend.

David, this is what life is all about, playfull joy, I think this could be a wonderful punch line for most of us.

Joey, pls wait then! smiles.

Brandon, happy that I could put in a little word game.

Thank you all I have a big wonderful smile here on my lips thanks to you,
Mads

I just ordered a bunch of inexpensive colored pencils from Amazon. I intend to copy these two creative projects with my twist and will post my humble results when (and if) I finish.

I tried to make a similar box. I was using ca glue. The ca glue seemed to dissolve the paint on the outside of the pencils. I ended up throwing them out. Also did you glue them to a piece to ply for the inside of the box
