Project Information

This is a table that was ordered for a TV and DVD player. It is 12" x 24" x 28" high. I fastened the shelf with screws through four dowels that are glued into the legs. I thought it would be nice to just plug one thing in and have the units plug into a power strip so I made a power strip out of an extension cord. I tapped the holes in the outlet's posts for 6-32 screws and used machine screws to hold on the back mounting plate. Then to manage all the wires, I made an aluminum hook and screwed it to the rear apron of the table.

The table is made from maple plywood with solid maple edgebanding and solid maple legs. It is stained with Zar 120 Teak natural stain and finished with satin poly.

Thanks you all for the nice comments on my little table. Now I can get back to cutting wood in the shop. Can't do that while finishing!

Dang Jim, 1029 project post, WOW…

Another nice one…

I'd sometimes say, "keep it up," but that's quite unnecessary in your case…

Thanks ,Danny. I like to stain that maple when using solids with it to make the color uniform. Clear coatings show a "striped' look.

cheers, Jim
