Project Information

A little knock down laptop desk .
Very simple to make with simple tools that the kids can use under my supervision .
Made from a laminate flooring sheet and a bit of plywood .
Made custom size as per instructions from my grandson and I like the way he designed the top with the armrest extension . We kept the weight down by cutting openings in the supports which are locked in place with two little cam levers .
He will use this sitting on the floor and also when sitting on his bed or any place where he may use his laptop .

Nice job guys! I really like the table top armrest idea your grandson designed. I would need mine on the left side!

Grandfather has got it figured out. LOL! Looks like a happy kid with electronic stuff on top of a woodworking project!

He might be interested in designing those little derby racers with you?

I like it Klaus. Nice simple design that can be used anywhere. I may make one or two for the upcomming camping trip.

Nice design and execution, Klaus and grandson! I like the weight reducing cut outs. Is there a way of securing the pieces together when stored? Thanks for sharing.

That is, pardon the expression, NEAT! Follows the KISS principle to a tee and looks good too.

Carter my Grandson would like to thank you all for all the kind comments and he has no problem with anybody using his design which he is rather proud of and so am I . This joint effort was a fun project for both of us and I hope he will carry the woodworking bug with him into the future as he is very talented and competent.
Candy we where talking today about a carrying solution and he wants a simple soft bag to put it in so I guess Grandma has a job doing that part .
I have to agree with many of you that it is a good and uncomplicated design that he came up with I guess it is neat and cool and the KISS can certainly applied here .

Thanks
Klaus and Carter
