Project Information

This is a sculpted coffee table from more of my salvaged Katrina Oak. My favorite is the spalted look of the oak on the top. So far I have one coat of boiled linseed oil on the table. I plan to put 2 more coats and I am still debating on what other finish to use afterwards. Any suggestions?
I got so fed up trying to get good photo lighting that I just went online and ordered several photo lighting systems with tripods and daylight bulbs. I bought a 30 inch photo cube a few weeks ago and It works great but the table will not fit in it and more light is seriously needed.

Beautiful table. I love how you apply the Andy-style carving to other areas of woodworking. The dovetail attachment of the rails to the legs is quite nice… did you do that with a router before the carving? The legs must be some pretty thick pieces of oak, too (unless they're laminated, but they look solid).

Sculptured is right, I love everything about this table, the joinery, the wavy look on the sides and legs, the woods compliment each other, it's a beautiful table you did a great job. I'd varnish and wax the top. I don't think you could mess this table up no matter what you did. kudos. mike
