Project Information

Coffee table in claro walnut with white oak legs and doors. Kumiko panel is basswood. Was a good excuse to brush up on my kumiko skills. Like most projects, glad that it's done and I'm ready to move on to the next one!

Finished with 4 coats Minwax "tung" oil and homemade paste wax.

Beautiful piece. I love the mid century vibe and your kumiko is on point. Mike Farrington on youtube has an awesome video series on some kumiko projects, it's worth checking out if you have that in your system.

Lovely table. A very cool design. The kumiko sid looks great as does the other side with the sliding doors.

That is stunning. I really appreciate the faces on the legs, the joinery, and kumiko.

The proportions define its elegance.

Actually I'm not a fan of mid century, but your table is outstanding. Beautiful woods and great craftsmanship.

Very cool -
I'm just finishing up a coffee table of my own that incorporates kumiko. Hope it ends up half as nice as this one.

That detail is so beautiful. And in a contrasting colour, it really brings out the workmanship. Outstanding work. I'd love to see w hat else you're going to repeat this with in the future. I would honestly consider purchasing a whole living room set of these for myself if you could get matching side tables and stands made!

Beautiful. What is the mechanism for the doors to slide back and forth? How was it installed?
